Outdoor EducationEnvironmental EducationThrough hands on exploration and guided discovery, students will begin to recognize the wonders of nature and how human life impacts the natural world. Outdoor Living SkillsBy stressing fundamental skills and an appreciation for outdoor recreation, we strive to help students develop positive and healthy life choices Team ConceptsThe goal of these activities is to cultivate group living skills necessary throughout life. Students will begin to understand how individual skills benefit the entire group. They will gain an appreciation for individual and group accomplishments, and learn how their actions can affect the community to which they belong. Information and ExpectationsWe offer 2, 3 & 4 day programs as well as 1-day field trips. All class time activities are 50 minutes in length with a 10 minute passing period between classes. Please direct all questions to the Outdoor Education Staff of Cedar Springs Camp. Class SizeIn order to meet class objectives while providing hands on experience for the students, it is our standard to maintain class sizes of 20 students or less. Class sizes exceeding this ratio may be accepted with approval from the Outdoor Education Director. Certain evening activities are designed to accommodate larger numbers. See class descriptions. Class InstructionCedar Springs trained and educated staff will be teaching programmed Outdoor Education classes. Cabin leaders will assist Cedar Springs Staff with class instruction as well as interacting with the students. Extra-Curricular ActivitiesExtra-curricular and recreational activities are included in your fee. Management and supervision of these activities are the responsibility of the guest group. Cedar Springs will provide materials and location. Sample Daily Schedule
