  1. How long has the camp been operating?
    Cedar Springs Camp has been operating since 1966 and we have been providing Outdoor Education for 17 years.
  2. Is the facility operating all year round?
    Yes, throughout the year we serve as a residential camp providing Outdoor Education, Summer Camps, Retreats, Challenge Course Options, and RV camping.
  3. Where will my child sleep?
    Your child will be staying in gender specific cabins. Cedar Springs has 20 cabins with 12 built-in bunks. Each cabin contains a fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, and posted evacuation plan.
  4. Who will be in the cabin with my child?
    Adult leaders or high school leaders selected by your teacher will reside in the cabins with the students. Preferred ratio is 2 leaders per 10 students.
  5. What are the bathrooms like?
    Bathrooms include individual showers, toilets, sinks, and outlets. Facilities are located in the center of camp.
  6. What activities will my child by participating in while at camp?
    Our Outdoor Education Program provides your child with daytime classes focused on environmental education and team building skills, as well as recreation and night time activities that are selected by your child’s teacher.
  7. Will my child be swimming while at Camp and are there Lifeguards?
    Our pool is open one week before Memorial Day to one week after Labor Day. We have Red Cross certified Lifeguards on duty when the pool is open and selected by your child’s teachers.
  8. What and where will my child be eating?
    Here at Cedar Springs Camp we have a traditional dining hall with family style meals for breakfast and dinner and a lunch buffet. We serve a healthy balanced, kid friendly menu. Three meals a day and an afternoon snack are provided for all groups.
  9. What if my child has dietary needs?
    Please notify your child’s teacher first, and then notify the camp of any food allergies or dietary needs. We are more than willing to accommodate for dietary needs.
  10. Is there a camp nurse?
    Each school that visits our facility provides an acting nurse for the week. All staff at the camp are First Aid/CPR Certified. Camp has a designated nurse’s station/infirmary.
  11. What should I do with my child’s medications?
    The visiting school is responsible for your child’s medications just as a normal school day. Please provide the teacher with all your child’s medications and pertinent medical information in advance.
  12. What happens if my child is injured?
    All Cedar Springs Program Staff have First Aid kits with them at all times for minor injuries. If necessary your child will be taken to one of the following hospitals.

  13. Am I allowed to come and visit my child while they are at camp?
    Only if necessary for emergency (please call first), or to drop off needed items such as medication, etc.
  14. Will pictures of my child taken at camp be used for publications?
    On the registration form provided by Cedar Springs Camp there is a photo release. If you would not like your child’s pictures used please check no on the box on the photo release.
